An Office Package is a single insurance contract and policy document, providing a much simpler and easier-to-understand document to retain and refer to than several standalone policies. Available from Lifestyle Insurance, the policy protects against key risks for businesses, such as injury to employees whilst at work, property damage and third-party liability.

This umbrella cover will have one common renewal date and will be more cost-effective for the business.

The policy comprises core covers, including employees’ compensation, business interruption, business contents and public liability.

Office Package policies or office insurance plans in Hong Kong are designed to meet the needs of all types of office-based businesses, from accountants and solicitors to estate agents and surgeries. Please note that Employees’ Compensation is a statutory requirement in Hong Kong, and this must be taken out at a minimum, even if only on a standalone basis (refer to EC section).

Employees’ Compensation is set at a minimum cover level of HK$100,000,000 per event.

Public Liability standard cover or limit of liability is HK$10,000,000 per occurrence.

Contents will depend on the value/sum insured of items owned by the business.

There is a no one-size-fits-all policy, the final cost determined by several factors.

For a start-up with one (1) employee earning an estimated annual salary of HK$1,000,000 and Contents in the premises of no more than HK$ 100,000, an approximate starting point is HK$3,500 – 5,000 for an annual packaged policy.
